Job Responsibilities:
Development: Design, develop, and maintain custom SAP applications, reports, interfaces, enhancements, and workflows using ABAP programming language.
Technical Analysis: Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development.
Customization: Customize standard SAP functionalities as per business needs, including modifying existing programs and creating new ones.
Integration: Develop and maintain interfaces between SAP and external systems using technologies such as RFCs, BAPIs, IDocs, and Web Services.
Data Migration: Develop and execute data migration programs to transfer data from legacy systems into SAP.
Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance optimization techniques to enhance the efficiency of SAP programs and processes.
Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues in SAP applications, provide support to end-users, and participate in debugging activities.
Documentation: Document technical designs, code changes, and implementation procedures.
Testing: Develop and execute unit tests and participate in integration testing and user acceptance testing.
Upgrade and Enhancement: Assist in SAP system upgrades and enhancements, assess impact on ABAP developments, and implement necessary changes.
Adherence to Best Practices: Follow SAP and industry best practices in ABAP development, adhering to coding standards, and promoting reusability and maintainability.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Previous experience (X years) working as a SAP ABAP developer in implementation, customization, and support projects.
Proficiency in ABAP programming language including ABAP Objects, ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, and ALV Reports.
Experience with SAP development tools such as SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (Eclipse), SAP GUI, and SAP Solution Manager.
Knowledge of SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, CO, and/or PP, and understanding of their data structures and business processes.
Familiarity with SAP integration technologies such as RFC, BAPI, IDoc, ALE, and Web Services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize workload effectively.
SAP ABAP certification is a plus.
