JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities:
Assist in Financial Record-Keeping: Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions in accounting software and spreadsheets.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing invoices, payments, and expenses. Follow up on outstanding payments and support accounts receivable collections.
Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Support Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets under the guidance of senior accountants or supervisors.
Data Entry and Coding: Enter financial data into accounting systems and ensure proper coding of expenses and revenues.
Assist in Audit Preparation: Help gather documentation and schedules for internal and external audits. Address auditor inquiries and provide necessary information.
Basic Tax Preparation: Support the preparation of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes. Learn about tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Financial Analysis Support: Assist in analyzing financial data, trends, and variances. Learn to interpret financial information and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, including filing documents, maintaining records, and organizing files.
Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Recent graduates or individuals pursuing relevant degrees are encouraged to apply.
Experience: Limited or no prior experience required. Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts is preferred.
Software Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Training will be provided on accounting software used by the organization.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn and apply financial analysis techniques.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and data entry.
Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to learn and ask questions to clarify tasks and instructions.
Organizational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
